NM -Carbomer 690 - high viscosity traditional carbomer
INCI
Name: Carbomer
NM-Carbomer 690 is a
cross-linked polyacrylate polymer, polymerized in co-solvent system of ethyl
acetate and cyclohexane. It is capable of providing high viscosity, excellent
thickening and suspending performance with low-dosage. It is recommended for
use in automatic dish care, hard surface cleaners, home care cleaning systems,
and other common industrial systems. It has good viscosity stability in the
presence of chlorine bleach and good efficacy in high pH systems.
Features and Benefits
l
Excellent
stability in oxidizing systems such as those containing chlorine bleach or
peroxides
l
High
efficiency thickening for very cost-effective formulations
l
Improved
vertical cling which minimizes dripping and increases surface contact time
l
Shear-thinning
rheology suitable for non-aerosol sprayable or pumpable product formulations
l
Suspension
and stabilization of insoluble materials and particulates
Recommended Applications
l
Dish
Care: Chlorine Gels, Enzyme Gels
l
Surface
Care: Scouring Creams
Formula Guidelines
l
Typical
recommended dosage at 0.2~1.5wt
%.
l
To
disperse NM-Carbomer940 completely, it should be slowly and carefully sprinkled
to dispersion medium while the mix is stirred rapidly to avoid formation of
lumps; extremely high shear rate mixer should be carefully employed to avoid
viscosity loss.
l
The
ideal viscosity can be achieved at pH ranges of 7.0~10.0 when neutralized.
l
After
neutralization, high-shear and lasting stirring should be avoided to keep
stable thickening ability.
