communication via PROFINET, PROFIBUS and point-to-point connections.PROFINET and PROFIBUS DP interfaces are integrated in the S7‑1500 CPUs. The
CPU 1516‑3 PN/DP for example has 2 PROFINET interfaces and 1 PROFIBUS DP interface. Other
PROFINET and PROFIBUS DP interfaces are available by using communications modules (CM)
and communications processors (CP).
