Siemens RMS-TSIG-TZ is a Static Trip Module. Static Trip III is the name of Siemens Energy & Automation.Inc. rnicroprocessor based static overcurrent trip device for useon LA and RL series low voltage power circuit breakers. Thebreakers and trip device are listed and labeled by UnderwritersLaboratories (UL).With the exception of the selector switches and one poten-tiormeter the Static Trip I overcurrent trip devices are complete-ly static,There are no moving parts or mechanical contacts.
Components used are semiconductors,integrated circuits,capacitors, transformers, etc.The selector switches are seal-ed binary coded decimal types with gold plated contacts.Thedevice uses an eight bit single chip microprocessor,with itsinternal ROM (Read Only Memory) programmed to be a tripdevice. All the circuits are designed for conservative loadingof components for long life and little maintenance.
