Sunpal Gel lead acid batteries add silica dust to the electrolyte to form a thick putty like gel. For example, large portable electronic devices, off-grid power systems and similar roles require lower storage costs than other low-maintenance technologies such as lithium-ion batteries. Many of the colloidal batteries we export are used in photovoltaic off-grid systems as a reserve power source. In the event of rainy weather or a power outage, the stored electricity can be used to supply power to the load. It can solve the power supply problem in remote areas.
Sunpal gel batteries on the market are VRLA batteries with gel electrolyte. Sulfuric acid and fumed silica are mixed to make the resulting gelatinous gel and immobile. Unlike fully charged wet battery lead-acid batteries, these batteries do not need to be kept upright. Gel batteries reduce electrolyte evaporation and spillage (and subsequent corrosion problems) that are common in wet batteries, and have greater impact and vibration resistance. The service life is longer than ordinary lead-acid batteries. At the same time, the gel battery has very good sealing performance. This feature makes it possible to manufacture very small batteries (1-12 ampere hour range) to adapt to the growing market for portable electronic products.
