The 3721N Analog Input Module is utilized for processing safetyrelated analog inputs.Sensing of each input point isperformed in a manner that prevents asingle failure on one channel from affecting another channel. Each Analog Input Module sustains complete,ongoing diagnostics for each channel.Failure of any diagnostic on anychannel activates the Fault indicator forthe module, which in turn activates thechassis alarm signal. The module’sFault indicator merely reports a channelfault, not a module failure—the modulecan operate properly with as many astwo faulty channels.
