Short wave quartz infrared heaters are used in various industrial applications. It contains tungsten filament, helically wound, encased in quartz envelope. Tungsten as resistive element is capable of generating temperature in excess of 2750℃. Its response time is very rapid in 1 second it emits over 90% of IR energy. It is by products free & pollution free. Heat focus is very accurate due to compact and narrow diameter of IR tubes. Short wave IR heating element has maximum heating rate of 150w/cm.

In the production of PET bottle, preform heating is a significant processing, Rsuch a preheating process, which can meet the requests of the blowing and stretching.
The short-wave radiation emitted by the infrared lamp is easily absorbed by the PET preform. Some of the radiation passes through the preform and is reflected back onto the preform by a reflector located behind the preform. This way the heat loss is kept to a minimum. Ceramic white reflector will be applied becauase its high temperature resistance.
The preforms are held on two rails and move through a tunnel where a number of shortwave infrared emitters are installed. The tunnel will have a number of heating zones depending on the wall thickness of the preforms and blowing capacity (number of bottles per minute). As the preforms move through the tunnel, they are rotated so that the entire preform gets uniformly heated.
In each heating zone cooling fans are installed to ensure that the IR lamps and the reflectors do not overheat. It is important to keep the ends of the lamps cool otherwise the connecting leads can get damaged.
After exiting the IR tunnel, preforms move to a blowing station and are finally blown into the shape of a bottle.
