Cisco WS-X45-SUP8-E Catalyst 4500 E-Series Supervisor 8-E overview
Cisco 4500 E-Series Supervisor WS-X45-SUP8-E, up to 928 Gbps system bandwidth. WS-X45-SUP8-E is the Cisco Catalyst 4500E Supervisor 8-E helps to enable the Cisco Unified Access solution on the world's most widely deployed modular access switch—Cisco Catalyst 4500E. It brings the best of wired and wireless technologies together while preserving investment on existing wired infrastructure. It supports full wireless LAN controller functionality and common features across wired and wireless networks.Notice that WS-X45-SUP8-E= is similar with WS-X45-SUP8-E, except that WS-X45-SUP8-E= is a spare one.
WS-X45-SUP8-E can be installed in the Catalyst 4500 switch Chassis. The Supervisor installed in the switch is only for reference.
The Cisco Catalyst 4500E Series 48-port Gigabit Ethernet line cards provide high-performance 10/100/1000 switching. Two types of E-Series line cards are available, based on the per-slot bandwidth: 47xx line cards that drive 48 Gbps per slot, and 46xx line cards that drive 24 Gbps per slot. The Cisco Catalyst 4500 48-port 10/100/1000 PoEP E-Series 47xx line card provides standard IEEE 802.3at PoEP support on all 48 ports simultaneously. All series 47xx line cards support standard IEEE 802.1AE encryption and Cisco TrustSec in hardware. The Cisco Catalyst 4500 48-port 10/100/1000 line cards are available in four versions: Data Only, PoE, PoEP, and UPOE.
